Prostate Cancer UK: Men, we are with you

Prostate Cancer UK recently launched their new advertising campaign called “Men, we are with you” that celebrates men. The main aim with this campaign is to inspire people to join with the organisation and be a part of solving the problem; stopping a man dying every 45 minutes from prostate cancer. And not just because the disease is so devastating, but because what it can take away from us. And to draw attention to this, the organisation declares “Men, we are with you” to focus on all the best values of men – and to remind us what we would miss if we lost them.

In the TV ad, a narrator reads an ode to men: “What a piece of work is a man? How noble in reason. How infinite in faculty? In form and moving? How express and admirable? In action, how like an angel? In apprehension, how like a god? The beauty of the world. The paragon of animals. And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust?” The film ends with a shot of a man diagnosed with prostate cancer, and the ending text reads “One man dies every 45 minutes from prostate cancer. We think they’re worth saving.”

”We want everyone to know that we stand with men and for men. Men, we are with you when diagnosis isn’t good enough, to fund vital research to lead to better care, to fight side by side for better treatments, to provide support when times are hard. We’re proud to represent men and their loved ones across the UK and inspire people to join us and show they think men are worth saving.” it appears on Prostate Cancer UK’s website.

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition; to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Their top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. They’re investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.
