The last couple of years, we at Goodvertising have been supporting the amazing people at Act Responsible and their like-minded mission. This year Thomas again joined the judging of the The Care Awards (Recognising excellence in promoting Care for people, resources and the environment) together with a great line-up of judges from all over Europe: jury president Ms Dita Charanzová, Czech Member, European Parliament, Catherine Armitage, The World Federation of Advertisers, Belgium, Jacques Olivier Barthes, WWF France, Thomas Coombes, Amnesty International, UK, Melissa Fleming, UNHCR, Switzerland, Nicolas de Gennes, Gê-Pan TransculturalCommunication, Belgium, Oliver Gray, Graywise, Belgium and George Perlov, Edelman Brussels.
THE CARE AWARDS ANNOUNCE 9 WINNERS IN 7 COUNTRIES
This year’s Grand Prix went to RBK Communication’s campaign: Baltic Sea Project / Aland Index – a project that has won much acclaim in other award shows. We recently had a sit-down with the creative behind that campaign, Mathias Wikström and you can watch the whole interview here.
8 other campaigns received a Care Award. In the Non-profit Organizations and Non-Governmental Bodies category, 4 campaigns have been awarded: FCB Zürich for Refugees Welcome for their campaign:“Search Racism. Find Truth”, FCB Cape Town for Cansa with “Cansa Testimonials”, Happiness/FCB for OVK (Parents of Road Victims with: “Safety Jingle” and FCB Inferno for Barnardo’s with: “Believe In Me”.

In the Government Bodies and Related Organisations, three campaigns were rewarded: Serviceplan for DRIEA (Direction Régionale et Interdépartementale) with their campaign : The Virtual Crash Billboard, La chose’s campaign : Ondes de choc made for Sécurité Routière and FCB New Zealand with “Made From Remains “ for New Zealand Fire Service.
In the third category: Corporate Governance (CSR), in addition of RBK Communication’s Grand Prix, FCB Inferno was also rewarded with their campaign: 16% made for Estadão Newspaper.
As for the Local and Regional Authorities category, although there were two campaigns shortlisted, there were no winners this year.
Similar to other award shows we missed strong contenders in the environmental space, so there’s a real possibility to make a difference for any aspiring green do-gooders!
